A genealogy test said Finn is 28% Boxer, 25% Mexican Street Dog, 14% Lab, 12% Catahoula Leopard, 8% Chow Chow, and the remaining is mixed. He is 1 year 4 months old and weighs between 50-55 pounds.
Finn loves attention, is really good with learning commands and loves cuddling. He’ll be your shadow if you let him and will follow you anywhere you go. Finn does have a lot of energy. He is still in a puppy stage so he needs daily exercise and space to play. He would make a great running or biking partner.
Finn is extremely intelligent and loves to please. We’ve been working with a trainer the last couple months and he has learned the following commands: Sit, stay, place, leave it, come, down, yes, good, uh-uh, no, nope, and focus. He does really well with focus, leave it, and place.
He generally does really good with other dogs, but there have been a few dog fights that were provoked by our other dog. He likes placing his front paws on countertops to get food, and occasionally destroying items such as, shoes and toys.
Finn has bitten once, but did not break skin. The bite was on a 29-year-old male. He has not bitten anyone else, but has snapped at a couple of other younger males after sniffing their hand. We have taken him several times to the dog park without issue and he has also been at doggy daycare/boarded several times with no issues.
Our biggest concern is that we have people over often and we visit family often. We will also be having kids of our own in the near future.
The ideal home for Finn would be one where there are no children and parents that understand Finn’s trust issues and are willing to give him the physical outlet he needs to thrive.
